Barrel length 11,4 cm (4,5"), overall length 20 cm (8"), weight 0,6 kg, year of manufacture 1983, Austrian proof, condition 1-2.
First Glock series proof from December 1983 (ATR). Matte finish with light scratches. Possibly refreshed bluing as barrel is also already finished in black. Still with the early plug-in front sight which cannot be replaced non-destructively. Original Glock box (but from the third generation series with finger grooves), spare magazine and loading aid (smooth) as well as the original manual of the very first series which only knew the model Glock 17.
This is a particularly well preserved variant from the very first series made for the commercial market. In 1983, a piece of AB005 was first civilian proofed in November. In December followed the first serial proof for 141 pieces of pistols from the AA-series starting with the AA001. This AA021 thus belongs to the first issue of ever commercially available civilian Glock pistols. The source and further details about this have already been prepared by our expert Mag. Josef Mötz together with Joschi Schuy in the book the "Weiterentwicklung der Selbstladepistole I - Österreichische Pistolen -Band II". It is the first model of the G17 type for the civilian market with 13.5 mm barrel diameter. It was presented to the industry for the first time in 1984 at the Genschow booth at the IWA in Nuremberg, after the increased Austrian Army order of 25,000 pistols from 1982 to the end of 1983 has been produced. Lateron the barrel diameter has been increased to 14,5 mm.
