Austrian cavalry pistol in exceptionally good original condition. On the lock plate the double eagle and "863" for the year of manufacture 1863. The Lorenz weapon system was implemented in rifles and pistols. It was called "the perfect muzzleloader". In fact, it was very accurate and long-range in terms of ballistics. With this weapon system, Austria went to war against Prussia in 1866, which ended with the defeat of the Habsburg army at Königgrätz. The muzzle-loading rifle did not stand a chance against the Prussian System Dreyse, the first breech-loading rifle that could be used in war, which had a rate of fire three times as high.
