With a long tradition, Outschar is one of the oldest companies in Ferlach. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the turbulent times also affected the business of Johann Schaschl-Outschar, when he leased the business of the late Johann Ogris and continued to operate this business until 1939. After the 2nd World War the company Joh. Outschar was newly founded and still exists today. A handful of new guns are produced every year. Furthermore, Outschar is a large supplier of stock wood for well-known German, Italian and Czech (hunting) weapon manufacturers.
