Damascus barrels, maker's name inlaid in gold on the rail, locks engraved with hunting scenes, safety levers on the lock plates, trigger guard and hand rest carved from horn, beautifully grained walnut stock with German cheek piece, iron butt plate, carved with arabesques and checkering in the stock wrist area as well as hunting scenes on the left side of the stock.
Heinrich Köppe worked as a gunsmith in the Cologne armory around 1846.
