23 cm long smooth octagonal barrels, maker "G. NAGEL IN BADEN." inlaid in gold at the top, blue high gloss bluing, radially inlaid gold threads at the muzzle and at the tang, lockplates signed like the barrel, locks and the iron furniture with deeply engraved arabesques, stocks of beautifully grained walnut, cut with checkering on the grips, front ebony finish with vegetable ornamental intersections. The cassette lined with green velvet has a monogram plate "HG" on the slightly warped lid with a crack on the left, inside the lid a large oval plaque with the maker in French: "Charles Nagel Arquebusier". The cassette is lockable, key present, and houses rich accessories, such as powder flask, screwdriver with 2 blades, bullet pliers, cleaning rod, ramrod, punch for the patches. Primer box and bullet box. First class complete set of a pair of duelling pistols circa 1850. Included is a copy of the cover and a page of a historical address book of Baden(-Baden) from 1848, which mentions the maker. Georg Nagel (b. 1813, d. 1873) in Baden(-Baden) is mentioned as a gunsmith in Baden from 1841.
