Veratschnig 9173 Austria" inlaid with gold on the barrel, fixed rear sight with additional hinged rear sights for 100/200 and 300m (gold inscribed), ejectors, bright base, engraved with animal pieces surrounded by classicistic foliage tendrils and gold thread, wildebeest and lions on the left, elephants on the right, golden crown with 5 points on the case back, notched breech with additional locked barrel hooks, sidelocks with springs on the back, sear bars, trigger guard with finger hook and empty monogram plate, elaborately grained walnut stock with horn extension and thick rubber butt plate, checkering with fleur-de-lis, pistol grip with engraved steel caps, Monte Carlo cheek piece and butt plate, rubber cap 38.5 cm, three-piece forearm with en-suite engraved Deeley latch, Eramatic swivel mount with Schmidt & Bender Bender 1,25 - 4 x 21 "Safari", reticle aiming spike, year of manufacture 1987, Austrian proof, forefoot of swivel mount needs to be re-soldered to barrel, otherwise condition 2-3. Heavy but leading big game rifle, due to the ejectroen also suitable for quick follow-up shots. Developed for big game, the 458 Win.Mag. cartridge is suitable for very thick-skinned game with bullet weights up to 500 grs, while the lighter bullets are also suitable for African predators.
