Slightly dull bore, no proof marks visible. Sliding rear sight with early scale 1 - 10. Large Ring Hammer, long extractor. Firing pin with only one locking lug. Inscribed on top of breech "WAFFENFABRIK / MAUSER / OBERNDORF a/N". Manufactured before 1900. Obviously original rust blueing. Small parts tempered blue and straw, hammer French grey. Curiously, no numbers are visible on the outside or inside. This suggests the highly probable theory that this weapon was a prototype for the Italian Navy's trials before the weapon was introduced. Included is a shoulder stock with the end number 982 in good condition with no cracks. Condition III.
