74 cm fluted browned barrels of twist Damascus, concave rib, adapted from flintlock to percussion, inscribed with maker's name, dolphin-shaped hammers, iron furniture, trigger guard and steel buttplate engraved with trophies, walnut full stock, 35cm, horn tip, sloping cheekpiece, silver oval on tang with initials, presumably replaced contemporary ramrod, year of manufacture about 1800 adapted around 1830, the gunmaker family Mortimer was appointed to the British Royal family, also to the East India Company and to the United States of America, condition III.
