Maschek in Gabel", nickel silver furniture, gold inlaid numbered "1" and "2" on tang, silver panels engraved with initials on tang, counter lockplates with rocaille engraving, double set trigger, walnut half-stock, chequering in basket weave style on grip, fore-end tip carved with foliage, trigger guard with finger rest, no ramrod, fore-end with wedge fastener, total length 40 cm, Josef Maschek is listed in the "Handbuch des Königreich Böhmens von 1848" (Handbook for the Kingdom of Bohemia 1848) as rifle maker, year of manufacture about 1850, the missing ramrod pipes are pointing to the use as duelling pistols, condition III.
