True pair with consecutive serial numbers, 66 cm barrels, choked 1/8 & 3/8, concave rib engraved with maker's address "29 Old Bond Street", action with renewed colours, bar-action sidelocks, intercepting sears, ejectors, very fine English rose and scroll engraved, vine leaf carved fences, double triggers, trigger guard engraved with double feathered coat of arms, automatic sliding tang safety with gold inlaid "Safe", straight grained walnut stock, drop-points, straight, diamond-shaped hand, chequered butt 36,5 cm, gold stock oval engraved with initials "WCH", fore-end with Anson push-rod, gold inlaid numbered "1" & "2" on all parts, in a leather motor case with trade label of Atkin, Grant & Lang with whom Charles Hellis was amalgamated, glued with various labels of the Cunard Line for Atlantic crossings on RMS Queen Elizabeth, embossed "W. C. H. Toronto" for the Canadian bank director W. C. Harris, plus a not associated oak and leather case with a trade label of Charles Hellis, straps replaced, lid embossed with "Sir John Dashwood, Bart., West Wycombe Park, Bucks.", year of manufacture 1929, chambers rebored to 2 3/4" with valid London re-proof (No. 1) and Birmingham (No. 2), the No. 1 beginning crack behind the left lockplate, otherwise expertly restored to condition 3.
