Revolver Colt Frontier Six Shooter cal. 44-40 Win #244705 § B

Starting price 1.300 EUR
Result:
2.800 EUR

Barrel length 7,5", overall length 32,5 cm, weight 1,14 kg, year of manufacture 1903, no proof - collector's gun, condition 3-4.
Starting in 1877, this variant of the Single Action Army was manufactured in 44-40 Win rifle caliber to provide ammunition equivalence with the Winchester 1873 or later 1892 rifle model. It was practical not only for cowboys, but also for other users in the "Wild West" to be able to use the same cartridge for revolver and rifle.
In 1846/47 Samuel Colt designed his first production-ready revolvers, still with percussion ignition. In 1848 the first factory was built and Colt has been one of the most important manufacturers of revolvers ever since. But it was not until the designs of J.M. Browning (Mod. 1895 and M1911) and Eugene Stoner (M16) that Colt celebrated its greatest commercial successes, becoming one of the standard bearers of the US armed forces. In the meantime, Colt has become a part of the CZ Group.
