Demibloc barrels inscribed "J. Purdey & Sons, Audley House, South Audley Street, London, England", concave matted rib, ejectors, bascule with shaded foliage ornament engraving, en-suite engraved trigger guard and trigger plate, possibly later shaded fences engraved with oak leaves, patent Beesley self-opening bar-action sidelocks, cocking indicators and sear, disc-set strikers with gas vents, no safety (!), double trigger, beautifully grained walnut stock with drop points, straight grip, half beavertail fore-end with Anson push-rod, presumably reshafted, rubber buttplate, initials inlaid with gold letters directly in the stock (MG), in a leather covered oak case with brass reinforcements and brass label inscribed "BLEY", manufacturer's trade label and specifications of the shotgun and its interchangeable barrels inside, with oil bottle, buffer cartridges, screwdriver, firing pin changing tool and spare firing pins.
