The gunsmith's Benedikt Winkler is one of the smaller ones from Ferlach and has always had to deal with confusion with Josef Winkler, especially when the descendants of the founder and name giver Benedikt also had the first name Josef. During the heyday of the company in the 1950s and 1960s, 6 workers produced up to 100 rifles per year. In later years, production dropped to 2 rifles until the company closed in 2007. The products of Benedikt Winkler are considered to be the down-to-earth Ferlacher and have also produced numerous new designs such as the "Hammerless double barrel shotgun with rimfire barrel in the rib".
