target pistol A. Lucas - Berlin cal. 8,5 mm serial #ohne Nummer

Starting price 500 EUR
Result:
800 EUR

barrel length 30 cm (11,8"), total length 46,5 cm (18,3"), weight 1,1 kg, no proof visible, condition III.
The round barrel, octagonal in the rear third, with sights (rear sight and front sight) inserted in dovetails bears the name of the manufacturer A. Lucas in Berlin inlaid in gold at the top in front of the rear sight. The barrel with right-turning four groove rifling is set up for a target cartridge with bottle case and rim and is tipped by means of a long lever at the bottom. The base, hammer lock, trigger guard with finger hook, grip pommel and long lever are colour case hardened and feature rim engraving and arabesque engraving, partially inlaid with gold and silver threads. The weapon has been expertly worked over in metal and wood, although the fit of the fore-end has suffered slightly.
Overall, an interesting and attractive target pistol from about 1880 to 1890 that appears to be in mint condition externally.
