The history of the company, which operates in the metalworking industry, goes back to the 16th century. The company was named after Pietro (I.) Antonio Beretta in 1791, who had an equally formative influence on the future of the Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta. The current form of Beretta Holding SA is one of the largest producers of hunting and sporting guns in the world. Beretta itself has always been family run through the generations. When Pietro (II) Beretta took over in 1903, it marked the beginning of a new era of international growth. In addition to a considerable range of public orders for government users. Famous for their service pistols such as the Beretta 92 in various versions, they received the US Army's equipment contract (model M9) in 1985.
