An ordnance rifle of an unusual kind: for the reaction training of fighter pilots, clay target shooting was cultivated in the German Air Force. The "Luftwaffe clay pigeon cartridge" was used as special ammunition. Here we have a Merkel O/U in a simple version (unengraved action). Luftwaffe acceptance "2 in eagle" at the bottom of the rear lug, Luftwaffe eagle on the right side of the breech. 68 cm barrels (obviously shortened and muzzle offset to the rear), engine turned rib with brass front sight, choke full & half, extractor, slide safety on tang, 37 cm walnut stock with half pistol grip and plastic cap. old German nitro proof, condition III-IV due to barrel shortening. A real exotic among ordnance rifles, interesting collector's item!
